RFQ Pad Transfer Printing Costs Safety Glasses & Promotional Eyewear T Shirts & Caps

We provide WHOLESALE services only, not taxable retail.
We don't give out print samples, our customers are generally non disclosure.

We are easy to work with, but the printing is done our way. Nearly 30 years of happy customers.
A few corrected mistakes along the way of course, this is not always easy work.

A Request for a Pad Transfer Printing Quote Requires:

--  That you send us three samples that will not be returned (we need to test ink and fixturing).
We may do a sample print (whatever we have in the machine that day) on your product to
determine print quality and can return that to you to see if the project is worth continuing.

--  That you email us a vectored art file in a pdf  (no ai, eps, jpg, bitmap or otherwise).
A "pdf" is only a brown paper envelope, so to speak.  It is what is in the pdf that is
important, and the contents must be vectored art.  Don't send a bitmap/jpg saved in a pdf,
as we can't use it.  Vectored art is simply lines and curves with intersection points.
Vector the fonts also (create outlines in the Illustrator program).

--  That you include in your email a CAD drawing or similar showing print size and location.

--  That you give us a description of the packaging (unpack and repack can take as long as the
printing.)  Include this packaging description in the email accompanying your artwork.

--  We cannot provide firm pricing without actual product and artwork. In addition, if your product is
drop shipped to us from outside suppliers, we may discover when we receive it that it is not as
expected and pricing may have to change.

--  A 1" x 1" block of 4pt. non serif all capitals text or logo, black ink on white satin plastic (not
textured or gloss) will print faster than the same image, reversed out, white ink on black, or yellow
on black plastic where multiple hits of ink are required for print  opacity. In addition, printing on a
2" x 2" x .5" plastic part not having any particular orientation (such as a round lid) will print faster
    than the same 1" x 1" piece of art will on a 12" x 12" x 10" housing.

--  We can print on anodized aluminum if the anodizing is properly seal coated for the pad printing
process.  We can print on painted plastics if the paint is such that our solvent  based pad printing
inks don't affect the paint. Rough or textured paint surfaces will produce pin holes and drop outs in
    the pad printing.

--  Each order you place with us will be charged a setup charge (see "A Note on Tooling" below).

--  We print solid spot colors only, no half tones or gradients. We need a Pantone Matching System
number for the ink colors, not a paint chip or other color system.

Note:
Printing Polypropylene and Nylon plastics requires raising the surface tension of the plastic so that the ink will adhere. For this we pre treat the print area with Corona Plasma. The charge is a few cents more. Corona may leave wet marks on some brands of polypropylene. HDPE plastics may not be properly treated with our corona plasma system, as they are normally flame treated. Again, send us samples for testing.

Silicon rubber printing, medical grade inks, on Platinum Cured silicone products:

We can screen print flat surfaces with up to Three colors of ink, images up to 10" x 12". For example, silicone rubber baking mats or as used in marijuana processing.

Silicone inks must be oven baked for cure, so any connected plastics or electronics will be damaged. In other words, the product must be 100% platinum cured silicone.

Below are standard silicone ink colors. Some color mixing is possible, but not all Pantone colors are achievable.

One Color Silicone Screen Print Setup a print up to 10" x 12" art $75.
Print cost for up to 500 units $.95 each + unpack/repack cost if any
Print cost at 2000 units $.89 each + unpack/repack cost if any
For two or three color silicone printing, provide us with the product and art and we will provide pricing.

Considerations to Print Pricing:

Is the print surface "print ready" or does it require pre treating and/or cleaning?
Do lighter ink colors require more than one hit to achieve opacity over a dark surface?
Will there be distortion of the artwork over a complex curve?
Do thin lines and small type need to be compensated for achieving readable prints?
A 4 Point type, all caps, sans serif font, medium weight is the smallest type that can be printed and still be fairly readable.
PMS color matching for Pad Printing is within 10%, meaning, we come close over a white surface, not close on colored surfaces.

Ship costs, unpack and repack labor cost? We do not print and then ship "in bulk". No ink is bullet proof and foam wrapping, layering and even individual bagging must be considered.

We offer a $250. First Article sample print program.

Except for USB drives we do not print finished products. We print only components. In other words, we won't print on a fully assembled clock or cell phone as there could be damage to the product during printing. We won't print on a container filled with product, such as a cosmetic.

A note on "Tooling".
We not not charge for tooling, printing plates (cliches), etc. You are not purchasing any fixture, cliche, pads etc. from us. Our Setup Charges cover only machine setup for the print order and cleanup and disposal of hazardous waste after.

This page does not cover all printing issues, we may, for your particular project, make adjustments or other arrangements.
